She was teacher and principal at St. Ignatius School, Houghton, Michigan; St. Zachary School, Des Plaines, Illinois; and St. Patricks School, Hudson, Wisconsin. She is survived by her community, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, her brother Vincent (Greta) Yurksaitis, and several beloved nieces and nephews. She appreciated the humor in life and enjoyed entertaining others in the person of her clown character named STAR. One of Sister Nancys greatest joys was her foster sister, Jessica (Jesse), who was born with Down Syndrome and cared for by the Derhammer family until the death of Sister Nancys parents.
